Quick Guide to Write a Scientific Research Paper?
Joe Gibbs says, “It's smart. If you are going to make an investment of millions and millions of dollars, you would research them.” When writing a scientific research paper, the students must make a research to identify a problem that needs to be investigated.
Scientific research papers are different from that of other academic assignments. The students should write a scientific research paper, after conducting an experiment and making observations or research. The need for scientific research papers is to highlight the students’ findings to the scientific community. The most important decision students need to make while writing a research paper is to choose the journal they intend to submit.
Scientific research paper: Major sections to be included
- Title - Should include the content of the research paper.
- Abstract –Should include the purpose, techniques, results and implications. Should not include the details of methods used for research.
- Introduction – Should include some background information regarding previous research that is needed to understand the present research work.
- Methods – Should describe the methods, variables, and techniques used for the research, along with justification if necessary.
- Results – Should include the research result presented simply with writing, statistics and graphs.
- Discussion - Should include “brief summary of the main findings, interpretation of the findings in relation to the introduction, and the conclusions.”
- Acknowledgements, References, Tables, Figure Legends and Figures are the other sections to be used in a scientific research paper.
Scientific research paper will not be of good quality until students make good research to identify a problem. The scientific research paper is easy to write when students make use of the above ideas. They must also refer the guidelines given by their professor.
