Some time back, it was rare to find anyone who did not know or have a significant amount of information about Jesus Christ. However, different people have varying perspectives about who Jesus Christ is according to these facts in recent times. Some get their understanding from the bible, others from church sermons. Thanks to technology, nowadays, people can use modern devices like phones to obtain any information about Jesus Christ. Today, our focus is on Jesus Christ from when he was born based on the King James Version Bible. I am Alexandra James, reporting live from the studio, and welcome to Strike Back news at six.
Jesus Christ came from the generation of Abraham, his father being Joseph, and Mary, his mother. Mary got pregnant with the Holy Spirit, and angels told Joseph not to abandon Mary because the child she was carrying would save the world. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the rule of King Herod. An angel told Joseph to flee his family to Nazareth to protect his son from Herod. Jesus was raised in Nazareth, thus fulfilling that he would be called Jesus of Nazareth by prophecy. A man preaching in the wilderness whose name John the Baptist baptized Jesus. In his teachings, Jesus emphasized purity of the heart and helping the poor. He rose to fame by doing miracles such as healing the ill and resurrecting the dead.
Rulers, then known as Pharisees and scribes, always followed Jesus and questioned him to get even a tiny amount of evidence to incriminate him. However, Jesus knew the laws and would abide by them in all his teachings. When He talked about the end times, his twelve disciples were curious about when and how this period would be. In response to their questions, Jesus told them that in the end times, many people would claim to be Christ. They would also hear rumors of war, but no harm would come to them yet. After these sayings, Jesus told them that one of them would betray him. It came to pass when Judas went to kiss Jesus in front of the chief priests. This action was a sign meant to pick Jesus among the disciples. After his crucifixion, Jesus died and rose from the dead on the third day.
The gospel of Christ began and took place just as prophesied. Jesus did most of his teachings in synagogues. He would meet and heal People suffering from leprosy, evil spirits, and other diseases. Jesus then went back to his own country, and on the Sabbath day, went to preach in the synagogue. Many people in his hometown did not believe him because, to them, he was just a son of a carpenter. One day his disciples and a multitude of five thousand people he was preaching to became hungry. Jesus took the few loaves and fish available, blessed them, and people ate to their fill until there were twelve baskets of leftovers.
Jesus took John, Peter, and James to a high mountain and distanced himself from them. While praying, his clothes became dazzling bright, and Moses, together with Elijah, came into sight. Suddenly, there was a cloud, and Moses and Elijah were nowhere to be seen. Most teachings of Jesus were in the form of parables because; this form of teaching was meant to trigger personal judgment in the listener, distinguishing between the most devoted and the ones who were not keen. Parables were also a virtuous way of maintaining secrecy in Jesus’ identity. Before the Passover, Jesus and his disciples ate together; and they always did this in his remembrance. After his crucifixion, he arose, and the first people to see Him ascending were the three women, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother to James, and Salome.
Mathew set out his gospel to stress how Jesus gave Israel and the entire world a savior. Until current times, Mathew has been the only author put forward for bearing the gospel in his name. Many scholars prefer Antioch of Syria despite the Jewish impression that the gospel of Mathew is Palestine written. Upon writing his gospel, Mathew aimed to preserve his knowledge about the words and life of Christ. Mathew demonstrates in his scriptures that the coming of Jesus is a remarkable historical event. Each condition surrounding his birth, life, and teachings is a satisfaction of a prophecy. Mathew emphasizes that primarily, Jesus was a teacher, then a preacher, and a healer. He also highlights that the eventual word of God to Christians is Jesus. Chapter four of Elwell & Yarbrough concludes that the mention of the church by name is only found in the gospel of Mathew.
John Mark was the one who wrote the gospel of Mark and was working with Peter. He wrote down his reminiscences about the work and life of Jesus. Most likely, this gospel was written in Rome with heathen viewers in thought. Mark has his central theme as the ministry and story of Jesus. In detail, Mark concentrates on the mystery behind the divine nature of Jesus by starting with Jesus’ baptism. The spiritual reality of Christ was evident to everything and anyone, excluding specific religious leaders. Finally, whenever Jesus did something to help someone or tell them something important, he would ask them to keep it a secret. He told them to be silent because he wanted to avoid triggering questions from the Pharisees.
