Homosexuality is widely spread all across the globe; this is very evident in countries like Spain, England and other European countries. The European countries are more open to this concept than other countries located in the other continents. The US is also another country where homosexuality is accepted to a certain extent. Netherlands was the first country that made homosexuality legal and a lot has changed since then. This paper will explore the sensitive issue of Gay marriage, a comprehensive analysis of how this impact our society will be provided in this paper.
Same-sex marriage first became a reality in America in the year 2004, when the Supreme Court in Massachusetts actually ruled that it was necessary under the equal protections clause of the state’s Constitution.
Connecticut in reality began permitting same-sex marriages in the fall of 2009. In April 2009, Iowa’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of permitting same-sex couples to marry, also giving advocates an important first victory in the nation’s heartland and thwarting the notion that only the Northeast will permit it. 7 April 2009 the Vermont Legislature made the difference. Jim Douglas’s veto of a bill permitting gay couples to marry, mustering precisely enough votes to conserve the measure. This step made Vermont the first state to actually permit same-sex marriage through legislative action instead of the ruling of court.
Two more states–New Hampshire and New Jersey–recognize civil unions for same-sex couples; an intermediate step that supporters say has made same-sex marriage seem less scary. New England remains pivotal in same-sex marriage movement, with a campaign under way that will extend marriage rights to gay men and lesbians in all six of the region’s states by 2012.
The meaning of marriage gets completely redefined when two men marry each other and the same has become an issue that has come to the limelight. Gay marriage is a serious threat and it challenges the nature too and this is because two men can never reproduce and take their generation forward. They can adopt a child but they can never fulfill the gap left, that gap can only be fulfilled by a mother.
The divorce rates are extremely high when two men or women marry each other and research goes to prove it. Heterosexual divorces are much less than homosexual divorces and this is another reason why people oppose gay marriages. Gay marriages have also come under intense scrutiny with regard to the tradition that the world has been following for many years. When it comes to mental health, it has been found that Gays are much less healthier than normal people and this is because of their genetic makeup, their way of walking, the way they talk differs from normal people and they are different from normal people.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Gay Marriages have resulted in causing several sexually transmitted diseases; they are much prone to such deadly diseases because they choose to go against the law of nature. Several deadly diseases like AIDS and other diseases are mainly caused because of homosexuality. These diseases can be prevented but we have to stop gay marriages for that, if this step is taken all the gays in the world will create havoc. It is high time to stop such immoral activities from taking place in the society. Gays never even take any precautionary measure to stop diseases like AIDS from spreading in the society; this is sheer carelessness and an attempt to spread immorality in the society. It is high time to stop Gay marriages from taking place and it should be done sooner rather than later.
Emotional Take on Gay Marriages
Men are different from women emotionally and even the genetic makeup of men and women is different. To provide a right balance, it is highly advisable that a man must only marry and live with a woman. This ensures sanity and peace in the family; this also ensures emotional stability of both man and woman. If we try to challenge the rule of nature then we are in for a real rough ride. Gay marriage is challenging nature and disrespecting the creation of god.
Even for those who are atheists, it is proven that gay marriages are twice as likely as normal marriage to get divorced. Emotional aspect of marriage is very important and gay marriage can never provide that emotional stability required in marriage, the stability that women provide can never be compensated by men. The role of women can only be played by women and the role of men can only be played by men. The substitution is just not possible and we must not encourage this in our society.
This can have serious repercussions and it can lead to disorientating the society. “We cannot bend the principles of God’s Word to suit vocal minority groups. While some nations may enact laws permitting these evils, the true church of God must stand resolutely firm and never allow the sanctioning of same sex marriages by Christian clergy. No church that takes the Bible seriously can sanction a union between homosexuals or lesbians.” (Society, 3 May 2009).
Conclusion
To conclude it is very fair to say that gay marriages should not be allowed and the people who are gay should find other legal ways of deriving pleasure instead of changing the society for worse. The consequences of gay marriage have been presented in this paper and it is changing our society for worse and we cannot allow this to happen. The people who are homosexual should be shown a direction that will not affect the society and that will satisfy their needs and this way we will be able to resolve this sensitive issue peacefully. Biblically speaking, it is highly immoral to bend the laws of nature and hence no human being should be permitted to do so. Gay marriages should not be permitted in our society because research goes to show that it is not good for our society and all the other aspects also indicate that gay marriages lead to disorienting the society.
