The quest is to generate power at costs comparable to fuel-fired energy plants while avoiding the contamination created by fuel, which is the end objective of renewable energy. Emerging technologies want to displace fossil fuels as the world’s main generator of electricity first (Barreto 197). The world is headed for a dwindling supply of these scarce resources, given the current reliance on fossil fuels. In other words, if people do not take precautions, the world will deplete valuable, non-renewable resources. Therefore, there will not be any more oil, natural gas, or even coal.
Renewable energy, also called green energy, is any power generated from a supply, not in the fossil fuel’s bounds. In principle, employing alternative energy has little influence on the environment. The leading renewable energy source right now is wind energy. Currently, the cheapest solutions for energy production are inland wind power and solar photovoltaics. The annual costs of the electricity system might be reduced by up to $23 billion if these two renewable commodities were used instead of coal (Barreto 205). Additionally, it might reduce carbon outputs by 1.8 gigatons annually (Barreto 211). Relying greatly on location, biofuels, geothermal energy, hydroelectric electricity, and nuclear energy are also moving into the marketable economic forefront.
The price of alternative energy technologies decreases as they advance. Solar and wind power have awakened the ability to produce an energy store copious enough to cover the needs of the entire world. One can see how people could replace fossil fuels over the next 30 years when considering how inexpensive, efficient, and financially viable these powerhouses are (Barreto 216). Most consumers concur that green energy has many more advantages than disadvantages. Remember, newer technology is always being developed to deal with and overcome the drawbacks of diverse renewable resources. Since switching to green has been so necessary for a sustainable tomorrow, it is crucial.
