Introduction
In the IT industry, we are in the midst of the cloud computing era. Customers can use AWS services for free, up to the limits set for each service. The free tier includes a 12-month free tier, always free service, and a 30-day trial. The term cloud refers to a collection of networks, much like a real cloud is made up of water molecules. In cloud computing, users usually prefer an internet service intermediary provider to set up physical infrastructure (Preimesberger; Sabo). Users only get to account for the services they use. Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform are the three major cloud service providers.
Advantages of Cloud Computing
Variable Expenses
With AWS, businesses are accountable for only what they consume. There are no upfront storage costs, and there is no need to forecast usage. The customers only use what they need, and charges are adjusted automatically.
Flexibility
Cloud computing is designed to be scalable. Because the rapid scaling up and down of the company’s operations may necessitate quick changes to resources and hardware, cloud computing provides the flexibility to manage these variations.
Security
Amazon Web Services is likely to be far more secure than the company that hosts its store or website. AWS currently operates dozens of data centers around the world, all of which are constantly monitored and meticulously maintained. Diversifying data centers ensures that disasters that hit the region do not cause permanent data loss worldwide.
The Reduction of Time and Funds on the Development
Users in cloud computing must only pay for the services they use. Maintenance costs are low because the user does not need to purchase infrastructure.
The Amazon Web Service (AWS)
AWS is a generic term for a wide range of cloud computing services and products. Server, email, networking, mobile development, storage, remote computing, and security services are all provided by Amazon’s profitable divisions (Rouse). The company’s three flagship products are Amazon’s low-cost cloud storage service, Glacier, EC2, Amazon and S3 VM services, and Amazon storage. Page (line 7) explains that it is the world’s most widely used platform, which allows the company to control “more than a third of the cloud market, almost twice its next closest competitor.” Many customers, including high-growth startups, central government agencies, and large enterprises, use AWS to increase agility, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation.
Service Tiers
With the option of Free Tier, the customers can easily access AWS services without having to pay for the limits set for each service. The Free Tier includes a 12-month free tier, always free service, and a 30-day trial. The clients can employ the cloud platforms for their purposes absolutely for free during a year from registering on the website, with the 12-month free tier service. Other than the Always Free Offer, AWS users can use the company’s services without having to pay for them until a particular limit (Rana). Depending on the service, the short-term trial service can be used free of charge for a limited time or up to a one-time limit. As for the premium service tier, the users will have constant technical support if they need to fix any problems with their businesses. By and whole, when using AWS services, people pay only for the functions they use on the platform.
AWS Training
Organizations need people who are able to operate cloud platforms to enhance their businesses. AWS Training seems beneficial in building and validating skills and using the cloud to its fullest (Dent). AWS provides both classroom and digital training, with the latter allowing one to learn online conveniently (Rana). Face-to-face training is an excellent way to learn best practices from knowledgeable instructors (Amazon Web Services).
In addition to face-to-face courses, people can take classes from anywhere with virtual training. Whether one is just getting started, honing IT skills, or expanding one’s understanding of how the cloud works, AWS Training is appropriate for those who desire to easily operate the cloud platforms (Dent). The training allows learners to gain more experience by digging deeper into each role or solution using carefully selected downloadable Ramp Up guides to extend their skills and knowledge.
AWS Security Certifications and Validations
The AWS Training and Certification helps their partners improve their AWS knowledge and skills, differentiate their businesses, and better serve their customers. Learners can also choose face-to-face or virtual courses (Dent). An expert can also select one’s education path by following the study plan recommended for a particular domain or job. One can fly around, too, as it is flexible. Furthermore, there are three levels of AWS certification: Associate, Foundational, and Professional (Dent). Each class focuses on different aspects of cloud usage (level of AWS service and system coverage in the certification test) and depth (the understanding of the cloud that is expected for the exam).
Foundational Level
The foundational level preparation appears to be an optional essential step in preparing for advanced Associate or Professional further certification. This certification exam aims to test a person’s core understanding of the cloud platform optimized by AWS. An AWS-certified cloud practitioner discusses AWS core services, basic AWS architecture, AWS security and compliance feature basics, and cloud computing basics.
Associate Level
At the Associate level, Associate level certification is a step up from the basic level (a significant degree up). These certifications cover a wide range of AWS intermediate levels, requiring students to learn many AWS services and systems at an intermediate to an advanced technical level. The following services are the options that the learners can choose to cover during their studies: Cloud Practitioner, The AWS Certified Developer, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
To pass the certification of Cloud Practitioner, one should have basic IT skills and be able to operate with the cloud platform. In addition, a student should be able to employ services and tools of AWS in one’s work. Besides, a learner should acquire knowledge regarding the advantages and disadvantages of using the cloud platforms optimized by AWS for businesses and different types of organizations.
As for the AWS developers, they should be able to employ cloud-based applications with no problems. After completing the educational course, they need to understand essential AWS services and basic practices. They also need to be skilled in developing, design and deploying cloud-based AWS solutions, identifying the techniques required to code the cloud solution. Also, to implement an architecture suitable for advancement and test environments and work with primary tools and services of Amazon related to messaging, databases, workflows, and work-related notifications.
The primary responsibility of SysOps Administrators is to operate workloads. Therefore, students need to manage, deploy, and operate scalable, accessible, and resilient AWS systems, migrate the local systems to AWS, implement and control AWS data flows, and meet AWS’s highest service security standards. All these constitute in acquiring this certification AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
Professional level
On the Professional level, AWS Professional Level certification shows that the owner is competent in theoretical knowledge and practical skills. These certifications cover two specific roles: Solutions Architect and DevOps Engineer. These certification exams are very demanding, but they can open a high-level career path for candidates. Although not a technical requirement, it is advisable to take an Associate exam before obtaining professional-level certification.
By the time a student completes the level of certification called Solutions Architect and DevOps Engineer, one must have a complete understanding of AWS certification, authorization, and accounting. With this certification, individuals can learn the following: Mastering Advanced Role Management and Group Management Subnet and Routing Skill Complexity with Advanced Networks and Advanced Deployment Techniques Using IPSec, BGP, Jumbo Frame, and Direct Connect Development Cloud Risk, Compliance, and Governance.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect is the highest level of AWS certification. Not only should one complete all the tasks of the previous certification, but should also be able to identify prices and employ a complete cost management strategy, design and apply scalable AWS enterprise-class operations. Develop and execute strategy for migrating complex multi-tiered applications to AWS. Choose the right AWS best practices to deploy the application based on the deployed design and provide the requirements.
Specialty Certification
Specialty certification is neither an associate-level nor a professional level, but an expert level to digging deeper into a particular AWS service. The aforementioned types of exams cover a narrow range and deep knowledge. As of now, several professional qualifications are available: AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Certified Database Specialty, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, and AWS Certified Security Specialty. Therefore, experts should discover various methods of cater to the businesses’ needs by employing the benefits of the cloud platforms.
Conclusions
To sum up, the learners should use various advantageous and helpful functions of the cloud platforms to help advance the business strategy and operations. AWS provides the experts with certifications and educational courses that allow people to enhance their knowledge and acquire new effective skills. As a result, after succeeding in obtaining qualifications, learners can assist employers in satisfying their needs using AWS services and tools.
